Hopewell Valley Community Jazz Ensemble

Picture
The Hopewell Valley Jazz Ensemble is comprised of jazz musicians in the greater Hopewell Valley.  Its mission is twofold:

  • To uphold the general mission statement of HV CAMP.
  • To provide jazz musicians an opportunity to rehearse and perform jazz in a standard jazz ensemble setting.

The ensemble is under the direction of Jack Furlong.

All competent musicians age 15 years old or older are eligible to join.  Instrumentation is standard jazz ensemble, including five saxophone parts (possibly including doubles), four/five trumpet parts, four/five trombone parts, and standard rhythm section (guitar, piano, bass, drum set, plus possibility of vibes and auxiliary percussion).

The ensemble rehearses Mondays from 7:30-9:30pm during all seasons in Titusville.  Specific information for the group is distributed in the form of a syllabus at the first rehearsal each season.
